Does anybody here travelled outside Canada with a passport under married name and Pr card under maiden name? Have you encountered problems? Do you need to bring marriage certificate for proof that you're the same person?

Thanks!

My passport is in my maiden name and my pr (now citizenship card)is in my ex husbands name and I'm remarried now never had any issues, immigration has access to the history so they should already know. I don't plan on changing anytime since it's all about money money money

I know eh! It's all about the money and the waiting time for processing a new ID. Thank you very much!

hi Charmainefrances, did you travel, was there any trouble, what documents you carried, i am in the same situation

Can any of you guys confirm if we can travel with maiden name and married name on PR Card & Passport?

I do not know for certain but:

-first check with airline. It won't help you to find out cbsa will let you in if you can't board your flight.

-I think repeat think that with name change documents cbsa would let you in. You could try contacting ircc or cbsa to confirm.

Does anyone have any updates on this issue? I have a similar situation. My old passport had all my names together in one section and that's how my current PR card is. But I got the name on my passport changed so it is split up as first and last names. My PR card has all my names in the last name section, so I'm wondering if this will impact my return to Canada upon international travel. I am unable to reach IRCC via phone/webform/email.

Likely not an issue. Keep the old passport with you, and gather as many supporting documents as possible to prove you are the same person. If you can get an official letter from your country mentioning that this has been changed that would be a plus.

The travel decision would be in the hands of the airline company so call them and check. The entry once you reach Canada should be smooth. Once you are in Canada though, you should apply for a new PR card with the corrected info. Nothing more than the old passport and the new passport would be needed, but double check the requirements just in case.

Good luck!
