Different last dates to apply for visa?

There seem to be a great deal of confusion about the last date to apply for the student visa. Atleast I am confused.

Some have said that the last date to apply for a student visa is 1 month prior to the course start date.
some have said the last date is 1st of August for the September intake.
some have said its 7th of August for the September intake.

So when is the last date exactly?

I am applying from Chennai and my agent will send the from from their Chennai office to their Delhi office on 1st of August and obviously it would take a few days for courier and for the Delhi agent office to process my file and to submit. ( my course start date is 3rd of September )

What cha all think?

THE DAY YOU SUBMIT YOUR DOCUMENTS AT CHENNAI VFS , YOU WILL GET A CONFIRMATION ON YOUR PHON AND DAT DAY WOULD B CONSIDERED.

(Also, the agent mentioned that they wont apply through VFS because they are member of some thing and they can send the application directly for processing. Is this possible?)

bro dont know how dese agents work, be cautious as you b knowing as their is a strike goin, people hav visa pending from june. go ahead if only u trust dese guys completely r run a background search for dem.

i had applied from mumbai vfs and thus 10th was d day my case was logged in, and i got my approval on 26th jul.

Its very confusing

They havent charged any thing so far for the college application nor for visa.

but have some thing called vfs fees of a bit less than 1000.

So you submitted your file on 10th at Mumbai, but only got a confirmation on 26th?. that's a long time for transit

oh I found this. Looks like the agent was right. They can apply directly to the high commission. But there is a note saying that it is only under exceptional circumstances.

Option 1:

The application will be accepted by VFS with the normal supporting activities, but once received and recorded; the application will be couriered to Delhi / Chandigarh as per the jurisdiction applicable. For this service VFS has the authority to charge a courier fee of INR. 255 to be borne by the applicant.

Option 2:

You or your agent has the option of presenting the application directly to the Canada High Commission / Consulate General during posted service times between the following timings.

Canada High Commission, New Delhi – Monday to Thursday – 11 am to 12 pm

Consulate General of Canada, Chandigarh – Monday to Thursday – 11 am to 12 pm

You should note, however, that applications filed outside of the area served by the Canada High Commission / Consulate General will normally not be accepted unless exceptional circumstances exist for acceptance. This is a requirement of Canada Immigration Regulations.

Option 3:

The application can be accepted by VFS and forwarded in the regular manner to Delhi / Chandigarh. However, this will result in a significant increase in processing time. After screening at the Canada High Commission / Consulate General, the application will be forwarded to the correct office via diplomatic bag. At present, this schedule is, at most, once per week.

bro,

15 days is a normal time taken for processin, dere is a strike goin on so dere are cases were students who have applied in june are still waitin for any confirmation.

so log iin your case quickly, if u have all paprez ready den y dont u apply today, your case will b loged today itself and u wil hav somethin in hand, except waitin . rst ur choice

I say apply through agent if you are going through a reputed agents because they have some internal tie up and good rappot. My agent also told me that last date is 7th august. My visa was filed on 31 july;2013. I would say check with your agent again and tell him to make sure ur file is logged on 1st august. Ask for your receipt number so that you can track your application immediately.
As soon as visa is submitted, the tracking number is active and it will show you that they have received ur file and its under processing.

All is done.

Gave all my documents to my agent and they would send it to their Delhi office and they would apply on my behalf on either 2nd or 5th directly to the high commission.

Hope that last date is 7th as you said

And surprisingly, I feel rather positive about it and believe that I would get the visa before August end.

Now time to prepare for that phone interview ....
