I work in Canada and i received an ITA 2 weeks back under CEC class. I have a query regarding my job title appearing on the employment reference letter. As per the company system, i have a role of IT consultant and they cannot change it. However, my duties align closely with NOC 1122 which refers to a more general consultant and this is why i chose this. Should i write a LOE for this and if so, where should i post it? In the employment records section?

If your duties align with NOC 1122 then you must make the change in the work history section. Remember that job titles are irrelevant, the officer cares about your NOC matching the duties of your reference letter.

Appreciate the prompt help. I have written NOC 1122 everywhere in my application. It's just that in the reference letter provided by my firm, they referring to my job title as IT consultant.

Which goes back to my point - job titles are irrelevant.

Agree with DelPiero, does not matter about the job title, it is close enough. No need for an LOE.
