Different IELTS for Canada and Australia?

Hi,

I am writing my IELTS for the first time. While filling the form, I see that they ask which country am I applying to. Incase I want to apply to both Canada and Australia, do I need to write IELTS two different times?

No. IELTS general is accepted by both Australia and Canada for immigration.

u can select any country u want while appling......but the score is valied for both australia and canada PR provided its general ielts.

As long as it is General, it is accepted both in Canada and Australia irrespective of what you mention while registering for IELTS.

Please note IELTS is generally valid for 2 years, but for Australia migration, they accept the score for up to 3 years.

General IELTS is acceptable for both Canada and Australia, however there is a little caveat with Australia. If you haven't studied from an Australian university, you would need your educational degree to be assessed from an Educational Assessing Authority in Australia. For that you require an Academic IELTS. So yeah, eventually you may need to sit for both General and Academic IELTS.

Just check with the educational assessing authority in Australia if they would be happy with a General IELTS. If they are then you are good to go with only giving General IELTS.

It does not matter what country you select.
