Difference of Job description - NOC

Hi all ;

I'm electrical engineer and I'm trying to ask if I can register under NOC NO. 2241 Electrical and electronics engineering technologists and technicians ??? and this will effect my score ? since as I know my Job description is under 2133 Electrical and electronics engineers

If I will do this , there is any repercussions will affected on me later ??

Go with 2133 if your job description matches with that particular NOC. Your score won't be affected by going with 2241. And, yes, your eAPR could be negatively affected if you go with 2241 and it turns out that your letters of references list duties and responsibilities matching NOC 2133 instead of NOC 2241.

Suggest you to go with the NOC which matches with your job responsibilities. Slight variation will lead to rejection.

Does this mean that the reference letter should be an exact replica of the job responsibilities in the NOC?
I had some variations in mine, does this mean I will be rejected?

with my experience yes.... you should have atleast some points directly from the NOC defination.

How is this even possible. There is no guarantee what my HR will put as descriptions for example, and I wouldn't want to get the reference letter before the ita.

You should approach HR with your drafted letter, which should be genuine and at the same time it should cover NOC points too.

Ok , but if I write the same duties of 2241 (rephrase it) , why the officer will reject my file !!

Were you rejected under express entry system? or the old FSWP? How long did it take before you got the rejection?

Only time will tell I guess,... I already submitted my application, I will wait and see what happens.
I also read somewhere that people got rejected for directly copying what was in the NOC description.

LizzyBob, saw your post in another thread and, as you, I also work in NOC 2145 - Petroleum Engineers. I have changed 3 positions (all 2145) within the same company and have my actual duties listed for each of those jobs. What keeps me awake at night is that they only match in one or two points with NOC. As you said, Petroleum Engineering is a very broad field and each person specializes in a different one. This is the only issue which could cause my application to be turned down.

Recently received my GCMS notes, ordered 1.5 months after AOR in hope it would shed some light on the whole situation. Unfortunately nobody has touched my employment records yet.

As per one of the VO i spoke with it should match atleast 60%. and should be in general wording for e.g

Responsible for troubleshooting issues on Sensors, controllers and fixing motor drives.

can be written as

Investigate faults on electrical/electronic equipment's such as sensors, logic controllers and electrical motor drives.

once you have drafted your JD as per your job before asking the H.R to issue the letter, send an email with your drafted JD to

NC-NOC-CNP-GD@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca

they will match your JD and NOC and will let you know if you fall under that NOC!!

Yes, my job duties matched only one or two lines of the NOC2145 description. I am a bit worried about it, but I just have to wait and hope for a positive outcome. After 3 months i think i will apply for GCMS notes.
