So the AOR means they are starting to work on your application, and the fee charged only means all your documents are in order?
Just wondering if my application can still be returned, my cc was charged today.

Thanks in advance

I read the procedure manual for the CEC class (OP 25), and the AOR is the official acknowledgement that your documents are in order to begin processing.

I suspect the CC charge is just part of the process of getting to the AOR. They likely take the applications and charge/process payments before doing a review of the checklists.

the check the documents to see if you didn't sign or put the damn n/a in every blank space, then they take the money and then they send the AOR.
they sent me back the application twice in 2005 with the check/money once for not putting n/a and once for them not seeing my USA work permits even though they were there. they screwed me. if not for that I would be Canadian now.

As far as I know I signed all the documents. The only form I did not sign was the Supplementary Information form, it only asks for you Family and Given name(s), it does not ask nor there is space for signature.

I chose Buffalo for processing office, but I guess they will now send my documents to Ottawa for processing. I hope they don't send it to Seattle since I'm in Vancouver because I've read that office takes a looooong time.

When will I know which office has my documents? is it until I get the AOR?

Seeing the current pattern, all the documents submitted to CEC (after Jan 2012) goes to Ottawa. The creation of the electronic file and processing happens in Ottawa. So thats why we get AOR and medicals from Ottawa. Once the medicals have been received and everything looks fine. The file is transferred to the respective visa office abroad for further processing.

This is just my understanding and it might be wrong as well.

you might be as I think in the next few months they might start issuing landing documents from Ottawa too, they are now able to provide visitor entry visas from within Canada. A lot of changes are still on the way.

@Bravosix
CC-Charged means NOTHING!!!

Relax and go about your daily activities while checking ecas periodically for any updates. At least your credit card was charged, imagine what it's like for those affected by the backlog? Just some perspective.

well said.
Also when they take your money, it means you will get a file number, which means something. As I mentioned they sent back my application twice without taking my money and this discouraged me from applying a third time and when I finally re-applied, I fell into the backlog and got screwed.
If they took my money in 2005 that would have meant that they accepted to process my application, in my case that MEANT SOMETHING, I lost 6 years because they DIDN'T TAKE MY MONEY
Anyone who said it means nothing didn't go through the $hit I went through with immigration Canada
