Difference between EDE and Non EDE

EDE: Excessive Demand Exempt
Here is more details:
EDE
EDE clients are those who are exempted from assessment of excessive demand on the Canadian health care system.
However, EDE clients are assessed for:
•Danger to public health;
•Danger to public safety.
Non-EDE
Non-EDE clients are assessed for:
•Danger to public health;
•Danger to public safety;
•Excessive demand on the Canadian health care system.
Note: EDE clients include refugees, refugee claimants and certain family classes and individuals with protected person status
So is it EDE or non-EDE, It really depends on what is your case, Nationality and type of Application.
I'd say, unless the CIC Officer requires it, the standard process should be "EDE".

If this is the case, i think you should contact your doctor and let them know that CIC is looking for EDE rather than Non-EDE. Your doctor should be able to provide explanation to CIC when they re-submit. Good luck!rank said:

Your doctor made a mistake. CEC is non-EDE only. Hopefully, they will pick up and correct the error during processing.akil_f1 said:

I suspect that this will be sorted out inside CIC without a requirement for new medicals. As far as I am aware, the actual tests are identical. It's only the results that are treated differently. Don't worry about it too much.akil_f1 said:Being said this , will this be an issue now ?

So can we say the person requested for ede can also give non ede because non ede contain everything as of ede?
Same happened to me. What did happen after ? Did you contact dr.? Or they sorted inside automatically?
Hi Experts
Need your urgent advise here.
My family and i recently did our medical. My wife is the principal applicant. She applied under the student visa category.
When we received our medicals from the panel physician, NON EDE was stated on all our medical results.
My kids (11 and 8 years old) don't have any medical conditions neither my wife.
Only i had an elevated BP when it was taken.
Will this NON EDE status prevent our chances from getting through?
