Hi Toledotoledo said:Hi,
Can some one please clarify the followings:
- Can you tell me what's CAIPS?
- How can I order one?
- Just by contacting Visa office?
Thanks,
Toledo.
Toledo, when you say that the status reads, "We started processing your application on July 2008," is that under the "Permanent Residence Application Status" heading or under the "Sponsorship Application Status" heading? If it's under the "Permanent Residence Application Status" heading, then it's not unusual that that is all that there is. On ecas, mines reads the following under the "Permanent Residence Application Status" heading:toledo said:Thanks for these info. I will go thru them.
The main applicant is my wife.
when I login to e-cas, that's all it mentioned. Is this normal? I haven't received any updates since Nov. 2008.
"We started processing your application on July 2008"
No other updates.
The CAIPS notes should give you an idea of what they are doing with your application, i.e. are they conducting background checks. The CAIPS notes will show the progress of your application and what they are currently doing.toledo said:Thanks for prompt reply.
mine's going thru Buffalo, NY. I've read some threads here in this forum, saying that Buffalo is one of the visa offices that process applications very quickly, but in my case its not the case.
I haven't kown about the CAIPS. I am planning to request it. Do you think, there will be some useful information in there?
Congratulations james9655!!!james9655 said:I contacted my MP's office by email last July. I had to write again after a few weeks because I hadn't heard anything. After a week or so they told me that my case probably wouldn't be decided until next year. I wasn't too happy with that answer so I wrote to the embassy to ask if I could get a temporary visa for my wife...I explained that we had been together for years outside the country and other reasons why our case should be straightforward. I received a form email from the embassy 'Dear Sir or Madam' Please look at our website...it seemed they hadn't even bothered to read the email. But they had read it...a couple of weeks later they asked for my wife's passport and new medicals. She now has her visa.
So I guess it helped, I might not have written to the embassy if I hadn't learned from the MP that it was going to take so much longer....
We sent our app to CIC: Mid Oct 2008
