Hi Everyone,

In June 2016, the Canadian government announced that they increased the number of spaces allowed for spouses, partners and dependent children by 14 000, bringing it up to 62 000 spaces. They have stated that they are attempting to process "straightforward" applications to push through more applications this year. Is there anyone who applied and was processed this year?

I'm curious to see how many people have had their application processed this year.

It's to clear inland inventory. Here are the latest stats from October 2016. That should help: http://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset?_organization_limit=0&_ga=1.166517113.699544211.1470936737&keywords=Immigration+Refugees+and+Citizenship+Canada&page=2

I applied middle March. Based on my last GCMS note in June they haven't touched glanced at my application.

I think mines is pretty straightforward. Lived with my wife in Vietnam for 15 consecutive months and been living with her last 3 years with a couple 3 months trip back to Canada for business reasons. We have a 15 month old daughter together and soon a 2nd child.

During the SIR, they have identified "straightforward" cases already. They have made any document requests in waves (June 16-18; August 10) and those cases will likely be completed by years end. They are landing people in the June document wave now.

My husband applied in February 17th and we received passport request on August 22nd.
I received my passport back on September 23rd.

We applied on August 23 and got PPR on October 12. Our application was approved and closed on October 19.
