Hi (leon, msfari or scylla)?

My timeline for both citizen process & PR renewal are as follows:

CIT sent & "rcvd" sept 2013
Aor & discover book rcvd "in process" Nov 2013
@ local Mississauga office Jan 2014
Fingerprint rqst & CIC rcvd March 2014 (no previous convictions)

PR renewal sent & rcvd beg April 2014 expires end of May 2014
Ecas "in process" 24 April 2014
Ecas (checked today) "complete"

I was told not to expect until July (as per CIC agent & online info) I clicked on underlined info still says same as before no update to pick up or if mailed. Is there a glitch or shall i call CIC Monday or shall I wait?

I hope now this will trigger off my test date as I presume i cant attend test/oath with an expired card?? If this helps I'm from visa exempt country.

Advice from anyone appreciated Thanks

It won't "trigger" anything; the 2 applications have nothing to do with each other. A person isn't required to have a PR card to take the citizenship test.

Hi

I'm sure somewhere I read when take test or oath they ask for a VALID PR card??

No, you didn't read that. The citizenship application guide states that an applicant should include a Permanent Resident Card (PRC) if you have one. The test preparation page states that you should bring the original documents you sent with your application. No where does CIC say a PR card is required.

Many long-time PRs don't have and have never had a PR card, as PR cards were only introduced in 2002.

ok whatever it said I'm glad I've had such a quick process for PRC :P

Quick update

I have got letter to attend citizen test next week!

May be PR renewal did "trigger" it off?? :P I'm so ready for this 8)
