I just saw on Facebook that if someone is studying an 8 month/one year program crs points will not be rewarded if more than half of the program is done outside of Canada.
The last update I know of is if someone is commencing a program between May and Sept 2020 they can complete their entire program online.

What is true and what is false?
Help

I don't think so as this restriction is implemented only for the work permit ,As far as CSR score is considered IRCC will just check your transcript and degree and i pretty sure that none of the college/university will mention that this course has been done remotely they will just mention its a full time course done by the candidate.

The post is correct. You will not earn additional CRS points for Canadian education if you completed more than half your program online. You can complete your entire program online and still be eligible for a PGWP, but you will not get the 15 or 30 bonus points when applying for PR, unless IRCC formally amends the Ministerial Instructions in force governing the Express Entry system. The current Instructions prohibit points from being awarded for distance learning.

Does that sound like it makes any sense at all?

"The letter of acceptance or a supporting document from the DLI must clearly indicate that the program requires in-person attendance for the student to complete their program of study once the DLI is able to resume classroom operations.

The DLI must also indicate a target start date for courses that require the student to be in Canada. Officers should be satisfied that the applicant intends to continue their studies or complete their program of study in Canada once the DLI resumes classroom operations.

However, if there is evidence indicating that the entire program of study has been shifted to distance learning and in-person attendance is not essential to complete the program, then the prospective student will not be eligible to apply for a study permit, since physical presence in Canada is not required."

So, what do you think, does it mean that if my university plans to have Spring term 2021 online then my study permit will be refused because the physical presence in Canada is not required?

It's not updated yet bro,as far as I know as long as ur uni is on the DLI list and as long as u have complete study visa,u are good to go.These rules are for students who had valid study permit issued before 18th March.Check the date modified on the link u have posted.

Yes. If you complete your studies entirely online you will still be eligible for a PGWP even though you did not complete at least 50% of your program in Canada. However, when you apply for PR through Express Entry, you will not receive bonus points for Canadian education, because that rule has not changed.
