Did I miss something? SAIT application

I applied wayy back 2013 for the Medical laboratory Assistant at SAIT and I've waited a whole year to get a response. Months before the start of the fall 2014 intake, they said the MLA course is full but another course - the medical device reprocessing technician - for winter 2015 intake is still open. I applied for that course and was admitted.

I recieved a letter of acceptance on november 20th and that I must apply for a study permit. Based on cic, I dont need a permit since the course is < 6 mos so I was surprised that I receieved that letter. With only weeks remaining before the start of the intake (january 5th) , I didnt made it on time since the permit is STILL processing.

What I dont get is if the student permit takes >15 weeks to process then why does SAIT starts admitting and sending out LoA's just few months (one month in my case) before the start of classes? Am I missing something here? any SAIT students?
I need help :(

It's not your faults. SAIT does not care their application. They dont work hard and properly. I suggest that look for other colleges.

yeah =/ they do take forever to respond and sometimes I need to resend my message before they'll reply. I guess you had a bad experience with them as well. Does anyone had the same experience or maybe properly processed everything right? I would like to know what is going on :( and what should I (or we) do to avoid these misunderstandings and waste time. thank you everyone :)
