Did anyone who sent the application in beginning of April received a response?

Hi all,
I applied for my wife and sent the application by Xpresspost. The tracking number shows that it was delivered on April 2nd. But i have not received any email from CIC. My question is
1) what is the current processing time for spousal application? It shows on CIC site that they are working on applications received on feb 29th but number of days is 82. I have also been told that the information on CIC site is not correct usually.
2) Do CIC send any email or letter when they receive application? Or they only contact you once the application process is started. My main concern is if the application is lost since I did not send it as register mail.

It varies between 70-100+ days.

2) Do CIC send any email or letter when they receive application? Or they only contact you once the application process is started. My main concern is if the application is lost since I did not send it as register mail.

You MAY get an AOR, but otherwise you won't hear a peep until you've been approved to sponsor.

I sent my app in Mar 29 and was received on Apr 3. I didn't send it registered either, I just tracked the receipt #. If it shows it was delivered, don't worry... it's not lost. You should be hearing something within the next few weeks.

For this type of information (current processing timelines) I monitor the appropriate month's thread, i.e. right now I monitor the 'March Applicants Join Here' thread. You will see that TODAY someone got a confirmation who had submitted their application on March 21st. Now it seems some jump ahead and some the opposite but now you know they are opening applications submitted March 21st.

CIC is working on March Applicants right now....Around 15-26 march is getting approval...

Hi. ! I also sent my hubbys application last march 29 through Xpresspost and it was delivered to CPC-M on April 2. . Since then, i havent heard nor received anything from them . . I hope we'll be hearing something VERY SOON! Just keep praying . . God Bless Us All
