Did anyone receive first stage approval ? They requested me to submit my biometrics today.

Hey. I know this is maybe too early but it’s nearly just a month or so before the start of the Fall term. I submitted my application the day before yesterday.
Just today I received a message that says my application’s status is now changed to under review. An hour after that I received a message requesting me to book an appointment to submit my biometrics and passport to the nearest VAC. But, VFS Global is closed in Kuwait. There is no Canadian embassy here, the Canadian embassy that processes my application is the one in Abu Dhabi.

I do not know what to do from here as the VFS office is still closed here.

Just wanted to let people know that they are reviewing our applications these days. So, If anyone has received anything please tell us!

Regarding the vfs in Kuwait have you heard that they will open soon ? Or just a speculation ?
I really don’t know why they are still closed. Kuwait will open the airport on August 1st, so I don’t know why they aren't open yet.
They will open in Jordan tomorrow and are already open in UAE, Bahrain, Israel and Turkey.

For me I’m going to University of Alberta, master’s degree.

Yes, 24 hours after you submit your application you will automatically get the biometric request. I think it is an automated response. I received the same too. However, your eligibility review would not have started yet. Your eligibility review has started is different from your application is under process.

Ahh then my bad. Didn’t know that.

this is exactly what is written on my application status “We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.”
