Did anyone in this forum who had application in FSW2 and applied under CEC too?

Hello everyone!

I have an application for PR that was sent to Buffalo- Ottawa under FSW2, since Aug. 2011 my e-cas stayed RBVO until now. Does anyone here thought about applying or did applied for PR under CEC while they have PR application waiting and sitting in Ottawa? What do you guys think? Is it a good idea to apply under CEC too since it seems some people got their PR's only after 8 months? Pls. help need your opinions seniors. Thank you.

My situation is similar to yours.Applied via FSW2 in October 2011.However also filed in CEC category in September 2012.Currently both the application nos are linked for me in ecas. FSW is 'In Process' while CEC is in 'Application received state'.When i called up to enquire couple of months back,the call center executive sounded more positive about the CEC application..but cannot really say though....she did mention that both my applications are with CPP Ottawa...and eventually when the time comes,they would ask me to withdraw one of the applications...
.I cannot really tell at this stage if applying thro CEC again really helps as medical is pending on both the applications.So in my case,both are delaying...This waiting definitely kills...hoping for the best...hope this helps...

hi PR2012, i also applied on 2011 (may). just got my GCMS notes and there are still no updates aside from it being transffered to CPP-O. i'm thinking of ways to speed up my application. do you have any news about your CEC application? is it really faster than FSW?

Not yet!!guess the only thing we can do is wait and watch...i think right now june 2012 cec applicants are getting their medical requests ...so going by logic...i assume it could be April or May 2013 for CEC September 2012 applicants like me if they continue to process at the same pace
...Historically FSW was processed at a lower speed than CEC...but cannot say really....as now they are keen about getting rid of the backlogs...also application processing time is currently 15 months for FSW and 13 months for CEC if u look up cic.gc.ca

As for my fsw app filed back in oct 2011,i am not betting much on it...If something comes out of it,i would consider myself lucky :-\
