I posted before in another thread about our experience in Manila, very frustrating as we also thought everything would be done on the same day. There was apparently no one on site capable of examining a child for starters, a few of the blood tests had to be done elsewhere, the instructions on how to proceed with these additional tests, what to return, etc. were very haphazard. My wife had to restrain me from tearing a strip off someone at the clinic, but I also realized it wasn't entirely their fault i.e. I think CIC could be a bit more helpful by stating upfront that additional tests may be required based on the panel physician's assessment, so you know it may require more than the day you've dedicated to completing it. We also thought we had to call for an "appointment", when in reality it was just a number to get in a line with everyone else whose "appointments" were also "8 am"!
Ahh Gumper that is so frustrating! I agree CIC could be more helpful for sure =/ I find it hard to believe my clinic won't let me go to another panel physician, but who am I to argue with them, right? I just want the medical results submitted to CIC, lol. Maybe after this process CIC will make you feel that your username really should be GRumper! 8)

Where did your wife go in Manila Gumper? IOM or St-Lukes? Im sorry, I missed your story in that other thread. My wife went to IOM and everything happened smoothly. She got her emedical receipt which I included in the application and her Ecas is now showing "medicals received". But now you say that you got problems, Im getting worried that we missed something.

I think if you missed any part of the medicals, CIC would have requested it when they sent your sponsor approval. I believe that was the case for Zarilenth(as they did not submit medicals when they applied).

Yes Zarilenth I was a "Grumper" that day back in January anyway. Really hope you get your situation resolved asap too! Edgehead: We went to the IOM (Man Health Center). There was no problem getting the receipts & we are also seeing "medicals received" on Ecas now, so no problems there (you need not worry about that!), it was just the slipshod manner I thought it was handled by the clinic & by proxy CIC. Like Zarilenth says, not much you can squawk about as they clearly have all the power :) I just think they should hear from people so maybe the process could be a bit more streamlined in the future.

Hmm that was around the same cost as mine too, everything all said and done. I am just frustrated that we weren't informed that we had to go to a third building for the chest x-ray. I think in the end this is our error, we were just too careless. Oh well.
I hope you don't mind me asking...how much did yours costs??? Before my husband and I got married...I started researching the medical exam prices...one place downtown told me it would all be done for 185$ and some asked for more about 300$ (average 270$). When I returned this time, I recalled the offices, Morningside was one of the least expensive ones. We paid 140$ for the doctor visit, 15$ for lab, $40 for the x-ray, a total of 195$. Did they make you paid more??????

Of course not. Lets see, ours was $140 for the actual doctor's visit, $21 dollars for the lab, and we aren't sure about the x-ray yet (I'll tell you in a week!). So, we've paid $161 total so far.

Thank you :) And I'm not sure if my husband did a seeing/hearing test for his medical, I never asked lol.
Edit: He apparently did both, actually. :p I'm not sure why there was a difference in price for us though!

My bad...I wrote down the wrong numbers in my post ( I have edited them..after double checking my receipts lol) ...over the phone they gave me one price and in person it was another...they said that the differences in prices were due to age and medical history...hmmm i didn't get a hearing test...i hope that's not too important :-\

Ahh gotcha! The hearing test was more 'lets stick something in your ear to look inside' not an actual hearing test.

Maybe they consider the hearing test an important factor in being able to hear and repeat in the swearing in ceremony for citizenship :p

We are trying to set up a medical for my step son in the U.k .. He has had the chest xray done but the dr has postponed his medical 3 times so far . It is over 300.00 pounds for his to be done ... That's like $500.00 ... Set up again for next week . My husband over here had an eye exam and a hearing test ... She came out of the office and said he is very healthy you have a long time together lmao .
