I'm not sure exactly what to write for this, I've put when we started dating, when we got engaged, how I feel about her, the outings and trips we've done. anything else i should mention? also, should i put how we discussed which country we were gonna move to, and give details of that, or should the discussion of immigration be left out?

Question is about the relationship and not settlement. You are fine.

We've written the initial "rough draft" about this development of the relationship question and in it we have written pretty much everything after our first initial meeting to present. I don't know if this is too much... but I feel it's better to give them a little too much info than to give them too little.... what do u think? Since I live in DR with my future spouse, after we wrote about how things were once I first arrived living there, we gave a little less detail because obviously they don't need to know details of our everyday life... But yeah, I have included everything after the initial meeting in our 3+ year relationship (so far).

Excellent, most people write a letter and some don't. But explaining the relationship is very good and the VO would get a feel of your relationship.
I wish you all the very very best...the more info you give is less headaches for you ;D

Oh dear...

I thought I was giving a lot of details about our relationship, but I certainly didn't add a separate letter. Now I'm worried.

We did include meeting, first date, moving together, activities & trips, proposing & informal marriage, etc. I also included how we met and how I felt as we got to know each other. We've been together since 2006 and have joint everything...bills, insurance, beneficiaries, etc. But I tried not to overload the answers because my husband said it might be too much. I'm now a bit worried that maybe they work on "preponderance of evidence".

Wish us luck!

I wrote a 12 page letter documenting our relationship from when we first met til present day including highlights and special moments shared ...i think if you put your heart into it the VO will obviously see it is a true genuine relationship ..

I wrote a 1 page letter single spaced of our relationship. How and when we met and how things came to be. I hired an immigration consultant and they told me that what I wrote was really good and long enough.

I sent a 2 page summary, with photos. i.e. 'we got engaged in July 2007 at Maligne Lake' (photo of us at the lake). 'Our sons were born in July 2008' (picture of us in hospital) etc.
I wanted to make sure they had all the info, but didn't want to overload them with info. If you make sure all the key points are noted you should be fine.
Good luck xx

I think the same way your husband does. I´ll be sponsoring my husband, and I won´t send a seperate letter explaining our relationship, either. I´ll answer all questions that are in the application form and send photos of all periods of our relationship. But I will not be writing too much as I think that there is not much to explain. I don´t think that not sending an additional letter explaining the relationship will be a disadvantage. I guess it all depends on how a couple met each other, where and when. But then again, maybe I´m, wrong and it does make a difference sending more infos.
