I sent canadapost xpresspost return envelope as instructed on the PPR letter i received. Below is an excerpt from the letter i got from the consulate, hope it helps:
For residents of Canada
- Standard procedure: The Consulate will return documents to addresses in Canada via U.S. Postal Service First Class Mail (Regular Mail). No tracking system available. Provide a self-addressed envelope. Please note that regular mail to Western and Eastern Canada can take up to three weeks for delivery.
- Canada Post Xpresspost: If you prefer Canada Post Xpresspost, please enclose with your application a PRE-PAID Xpresspost envelope. Complete the mailing label on the return envelope showing the Windsor Post Office Box address in the "FROM" section of the mailing label (Canadian Consulate General/IMM, 401 Ouellette Avenue, P.O. Box 940 Station “A”, Windsor, ON N9A 6P2 CANADA). Make a note of the tracking number for each envelope. Please note: If you choose to select this service, your package will be sent from our P.O.Box in Windsor and will not originate in the USA.
Please note that the above options are for residents of Canada. I chose the second option so I would know whenever they send back my application, i would see the canadapost tracker go live.
If you are in Canada too, you can do the same.
Hope this helps!

Sorry but I didnt get it. Do I have to send my passport to Detroit address or Windsor address. For sure the return envelope will have Windsor adrdress.htayyab said:That is correct. However, you dont have to use Canadapost XpressPost to send your passport to windsor P.O.Box. You can use Canadapost Fedex international priority envelope for sending the passport to Detroit directly. Though for the return, there is no option but to use Canadapost XpressPost and yes you are right abt the FROM field.
Hope this helps!

Sorry but I didnt get it. Do I have to send my passport to Detroit address or Windsor address.Even if we send it to Windsor ,do they send it to Detroit. So its better to send to Detroit and save time??? How did you send it ??
For sure the return envelope will have Windsor address.
Which is faster and plz share your timeline with dates for sending passport and receiving it. Thank you

can you please tell me what are the instructions for people staying outside Canada. I applied while I was in Canada but currently in India. I was actually wondering how my passport will be mailed since they don't send it outside Canada.
Any information would be very helpful for me to be prepared.
TIA!!
thanks a lot...helps a lot. Just one more question. After landing in Canada can we immediately start working or have to get a PR card and then apply for sin card and then start workin??htayyab said:Hi smile26,
You can send it to either Windsor or Detroit. Its upto you really. Only thing is you can't send commercial courier packages to Windsor since its just a POBox and no one would be there to sign for your package hence it wont get accepted. I sent it to Detroit because all packages get sent to Detroit from Windsor anyways. From what I understand, Windsor address is just a dropbox location for packages within Canada and someone from Detroit picks up packages from it twice or thrice a week and take it back to Detroit for processing. Its better to send directly to detroit coz then you know details like who received it at the other end etc. My package was received on June 4, status has changed to decision made but tracker is still not active. I think it would go live sometime next week. I'll keep you guys posted. Hope this helps clarify and best of luck!

I would say wait it out for a month and in the meantime order your GCMS notes. they just received your medicals and it takes them sometime to update personal records once they receive information from applicants. I think you are in pretty good shape and should be getting PPR within a month or so. Best of luck.cecjan said:Yes, i am waiting for my PPR as well, CIC ottawa already got my medical on June 14, 2012.
