Detroit office closed -mail not delivered

Your passport reached the same day as mine but mine reached early morning and they made attempt to deliver it. But yours reached in afternoon , when they do not deliver (delivery time for saturday 10 a.m to 2 p.m as per USPS) so urs status was processed at postal facility right? They should make their first attempt on Tuesday Nov 13 .
Dont worry its USPS policy if your item is not delivered or claimed within 5 business days it will be returned to you. In any case ur passport will not lost, as u have the tracking number and it shows its with post office.
in my opinion call usps again and ask them politely tht when u guys goin to make delivery?

Thanks for your response panna. I did ask them about an eta on delivery and they said just keep checking the website. they kept telling me you have to ask canada post about that and I said canada post says 1-2 business day and we are way beyond that point. I was extremely polite and that's how I got them to initiate an inbound inquiry. They won't usually initiate one of those for international parcels. I am going to sit on this until Monday and if nothing happens I will call USPS and won't get off the phone until they find my passport. Thanks again for your kind reply.

Hi everyone,

I just had a similar experience mailing my docs to the Detroit consulate.

When mailing through Canada Post Xpresspost USA I would recommend checking the status of your item on the USPS website, as I found it tended to have more accurate and up-to-date information than the Canada Post website.
