So when my husband was 18 he was in Mexico with some of his friends and they were picked up for basically being drunk in public and he had a pocket knife. He wasn't charged or anything but they did hold him for a couple hours and I think his mom had to come get him. He has no paperwork showing any of this, he's from the US and his FBI check came back clean with no arrest record. Would he need to check yes on the form where it asks if you've ever been detained ie: arrested. Or no? As far as he's concerned it "doesn't count". Not sure if we should tick yes and explain or just tick no because nothing ever came of it whatsoever, they just let him go.

Just tick NO as it was not in papers anywhere so no point of mentioning it, if does not came in the FBI report then why bother

I second this, no record = doesn't count

How long was he in Mexico?
Was it a visit of less than six months?

OMG don't mention it! It sounds like it's equivalent of being put in the drunk tank. Nothing official! If you mention it you'd be opening a can of worms.

They were in like tiajuana for a night... just being a dumbass.
