Hi every body.
One of our relative was deported from Middle east due to over stay. Now, he got married with Canadian citizen and his wife is applying for his sponsorship.
We could not find any thing which can stop her applying for her husband. Being deported from any country is not a good thing to have in record, however, it cant stop him to apply for Canada.
Some lawyers advised them that they have to wait for 10 years from deportation to apply which we could not find any where on any website.
Any body having any idea?
Thanks in advance.
Regards

you should make sure u mention it when u apply in the application or it will lead to misinterpretation and u will be banned from applying again for 5 years. no there is no rule like that will stop u from applying to canada. but its defnetly not a positive sign on ur application.

No - there's no requirement to wait 10 years (the lawyer doesn't know what he/she is talking about). As part of the sponsorship process, your relative will have to go through the ARC process to be allowed to return back to Canada. This will involve additional fees and processing time.

The OP stated that the deportation was from a country other than Canada. Why would s/he need an ARC to enter Canada?
