My parent's sponsorship application stage 1 (Application to sponsor and Undertaking IMM 1344AE, etc) was submitted on June 2010. I received a letter from CIC on July 30, 2014 that they are now ready to begin processing my sponsorship application and require additional information including "Generic Application Form to Canada (IMM 0008)" from the principal applicant among others.

Since the original submission, two of the 3 siblings included under dependents are now 22 and 24 years old. My question is, are the said two dependents will still be dependent "Type A" in answering the form IMM008, since the two are under this type in the original submission of the sponsorship application which I believe is 'locked in'. Kindly note that the 24-yr old started working over a year ago, while the 22 also started working at the same time but re-enrolled herself in school beginning of this year while continued working.

Also will their work and stopping from school have an effect in their application?

Thank you for any feedback.

If they were Type A at time the app was first submitted, then they are Type A during entire processing right up to final PR approval, no matter how old they get.

School or work should have zero effect for Type A dependents as it's based only on age and marital status. Just note they can't get married or become common-law, else that would immediately disqualify them as dependents and they would be removed from the application.

Thanks Rob for your reply. I almost dismissed the application for the 24-yr old because of his age and already working, and completely stopped attending school.

Follow-up question. Please see excerpt of required docs from dependents. Since the said 2 are under "Type A", the following requirement does not apply to them, does it? Now in my understanding, though they are currently 22 yrs & over, the below is for Type B at the time of original application, kindly correct me if I'm wrong.

"Proof of continuous full-time studies of all dependent children aged 22 or over, including:
• complete school records/transcripts since attaining age 22;
• letters from the schools indicating the number of hours of classes attended per day, and the number of days attended per week;
• proof of full financial support by parents since reaching age 22."

Thanks again!

If they were Type A when the app was submitted, they are still Type A now. So no Type B proofs should be required.
