hi,

I enrolled in Universal learning institute which is a private college in Vancouver,Canada for post graduate diploma in computer accounting(2 year course).I came here with student visa and got work permit also.Could you please reply me can i apply dependent visa for my husband? And also is there any stayback for this course in this college.I got open work permit,but in that,they specified that"only for work forming an essential/ integral part of the course as per Universal Learning Institute.Cannot be used as an off-campus work permit/postgraduate work permit".What is its mean?Can i work now? please help me.....................

the work permit u got is co-op work permit.u cannot work before completing 6 months of study in campus..after u complete 6 months, u shud apply for SIN card and then only u will be hired by someone.

u can bring your husband here..he will get open work permit for the time which remains in your study permit...if u have 1 yeaar left,your husband will get 1 year work permit.

You cannot work part time as now. You can apply for your husband's visa right away.

Thanks for your information.I applied foe dependent visa for my husband.Now that is rejected.this reasons they specified are

a.You have not satisfied me that you would leave canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident,i considered several factors including,

1.length of proposed stay in Canada
2.Purposed of visit
3.Your current employment situation
b.I am not satisfied that you have sufficient funds including income and assets to carry out your stated purpose in going to canada or to maintain yourself while in canada and to effect your departure

what i do ? please help me.............................................

Hey,

Is it paper application or online application, its easy to apply online. For dependent visa you need to check the eligibility first. For Open work permit your spouse should fall under occupational skill list O, A and B, who are not in this list will need to apply for TRV.

Just fill the online questionnaire for open work permit and you will get one ID with that you can create a GC key login and enter CIC website. In your spouse account they will ask you list of the document required for spouse visa, just fill and submit. scan all the documents in to single file and upload. I applied on 14 November for my wife and she got medical request on 27 November 13. she is in occupational skill list A.

Don't worry try again. you don't need a work visa for spouse visa, if you have work visa along with study visa you don't need to wait 6 months for SIN card, you can apply now itself in Service Canada office. I came in September intake and I have work visa and i got SIN card as well, but we can not work for first 6 months even if you have SIN card.
