Hello All,

I am currently on my Post Graduate Work Permit(Open Work permit) which expires on Oct 2018.
I will be married in May 2017 and I wish to bring my wife to canada along with me.

She is currently working in India since 2.5 years for Infosys and I am planning to apply for her Canadian Visitor/Tourist Visa.

Once she has visitor visa I am planning to bring her alongwith me after getting married in May 2017 and apply for her dependent OWP from within canada.
I would like to know if anyone has already gone through such a process ??? Please reply and suggest ..

Hi pratikbidkar
I'm also in the same situation.I have tried visitor visa after marriage on November 2016 and it got refused.now i applied SOWP on December 31 2016 through online.so my personal suggestion is you have to do court marriage and apply for SOWP through online/paper.and you no need to show any funds for your spouse if you are in NOC 0 A B,but for visitor visa you have to show enough funds and it wont be satisfy the officer.my visa rejected due to funds

hope this helpful to u

Hey Ush, thank you for generous reply.
There is an update in my spouse's file. She received her VISITOR VISA.
we would be marrying in may 2017. Would you throw some light as to what difficulties I would face at the immigration in canada?

thanks

Hello,
There is an update in my spouse's file. She received her VISITOR VISA in first attempt itself. I mentioned her as my friend since we are not yet married.

Hi,
Can you share the timeline for visitor visa and funds that you showed?
This can help a lot of us in bringing our spouse to Canada.

As far as immigration is concerned, its not that tough. She can say she is here to explore Canada and she should have a small travel plan ready as a backup just in case if the officer asks for more details.
She should remember some places that she can tell if she is asked where she wants to go in Canada
She should have clear answers to where will she stay and how much funds does she have to meet her expenses in Canada and so on.
That should be enough to clear immigration.

Hello,
Should she state that she is married, if the immigration officers ask?

Hi All,

I am on my post graduation open work permit, working for one software corp and recently got married.

I would like to bring my wife to canada on open work permit and just wondering that do I need to show proof of funds to apply for dependent open work permit visa? If yes how much balance should I show? Do we need show balance only in my Canadian bank account or in her Indian bank account too?

please help me with your valuable suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Sandeep
