I have submitted my family class sponsorship for my Mum and was received by CIC on 8th October 2008. My sister who was 22 years old at that time was entered in the application as non-accompanying member. I didn't include her in the application as accompanying member at the time of submission because I do not meet the LICO. But in 2009, I was able to meet the income requirements up until now. I just found out lately that I can actually sponsor my sister who has a medical condition even if she is 22 years of age or older. She has lung problem and has depended substantially on the financial support of my Mum.

Is it still possible to include her as a dependent child? If yes, should I contact CIC and make some changes on the application?

Greatly appreciate anyone that could help me.

Many thanks

what if my child already finished her main course which is I.T. and then she studies a different one? is that allowed?

Hi,
I applied for my parents sponsorship in 2010. My brother was 20 at that time and he was added as accompanying member. The application is still in process and has reached step 2. My brother is still studying and will be finishing his studies by August 2015. My question is that can he work now as the application will still be in process for some more time?

No, he can not. He must remain a Full Time Student and be financially dependent on his parents until application is finalized.

Correction:
Your brother is Type A dependent. Type A must not be married or be involved in a common-law relationship at the time of visa issuance and when they enter Canada.

This is wrong. As the brother was 20 at the time of submission, he was locked in as a Type A dependent and is not required to continue studying. It is Type B dependents that are required to remain in full time education until the app is approved.

canuck_in_uk, thanks for pointing out the incorrect answer. I edited the post to strike-out wrong answer.

Souxie, thank you so much for clarification of age lock in. My brother who is under 21 when the cic officially received our application on Sept 2011 You know im so worried finally after 5 years application we got updates and another 11 months to wait. for the final decision.

Hello i have an application officially received by cic on Sept 2011 For Parents and dependant child:

AGE FROM SEPT2011
Sis-21y+4 mos.- currently working in Canada as caregiver.
Bro- 18y+9 mos.- stay home after graduating in the university.

Are the age Lock in? And does it will affect the application with thier current status?

Hope u can give me a peace of mind thanks
