I’ve applied TRV for my daughter (just 6 months old now – and who was born in Pakistan), but her visa was refused and I got a call from CHC Islamabad to apply her sponsorship inland though the kept her passport and all other documents. I, my wife and my son are PRs but I am in Canada while my wife n kids are in Pakistan. I’ve applied my daughter sponsorship and application was delivered on 30th December 2013. Now, when I check application status it’s like;
Sponsorship
1. We received your application to sponsor ****** on December 30, 2013.

2. We started processing your application on January 31, 2014.

And

Permanent Residence
1. We received ******* application for permanent residence on December 30, 2013.

2. Medical results have been received.


Keeping in mind I’ve send all the applications forms, medical and documents in one go to CPC.

Any idea on what is going on?

If you have applied to sponsor her then it appears her application is in process and now u just wait for approval. Shouldnt take too long if you submitted everything they need. Looks good so far.

Since your wife is also PR, she will have to maintain her residency requirement in order to keep her PR status. If she intends to stay outside Canada while waiting for PR for your child, she could jeopardize her PR status depending on how long it takes for child to get COPR to land in Canada. Just keep that in mind.

Well I guess the delay was from my side as I deposited wrong fee. I got a letter from them last week about it and I've paid rest of the fee now. I send them proof along with a copy of their letter and it was recieved by their office on Tuesday this week. I don't know how long will it take to reopen my case as they are processing cases recieved on 10th Jan 2014 now while mine was 30th Dec 2013.

@screech339, yes that is what we are a bit concerned about as well as it will be one full year in march since she is away. I dont know who long will it take but as I read through blogs it wont any long in minor's cases. Probably 3/4 months after you get aproved. In my case the CHC in Islamabad got her medical and passport so I dont think it will be that long.

You are right that currently they are working on 10-Jan-2014 applications, as long as if you have file number on the letter issued recently then they will not take more than few days. If you dont have issued any file number then probably your turn will come after 4-6 weeks when online shows that 14-FEB-2014 opens.
