Dear All;

I being permanent resident, filed an application for sponsorship of my child who was born outside Canada. I sent my full application package along with fees to Mississauga center on 1st October 2011.

After wait for three months, I contacted with Call-Centre to check the status of application or acknowledgement letter. They told me there is no any information in system about your submitted file.

I given them Canada Post receipt number and paid fees reference number. Call-Centre agent told me that they are going to send a message to the immigration office and advised me to wait till reply from the office.

I contacted with Call-Centre many times, every time they told me we are still waiting the reply from immigration office.

Since I submitted the application, it is six months have passed and no one contacted to me about the status of application.

If anyone knows how I can get information about the file, please let me know. I’ll appreciate any suggestion or advice.

1.Try to call the call center every day. What are they saying now?
2. Check in ecas to see the status of your application.
3. Contact with your local MP explain your current status and ask for his help to know the status of your application. If an MP inquires about it, they are going to answer within three business days.

I hope you will get some positive answer very soon.

I contacted to local MP office, she check the status for me. Actually CPC Mississauga has lost the application. Many times I contacted with Call-Center, they always told me "we sent message to CPC Mississauga and they didn't reply us".

They need 6 months to tell me that they have lost the file. I am going to re-apply now.

Thanks for your help, I really appriciate it.

We are having exact the same problem regarding a sponsorship application for a independent child.
Our application was send on November 01 2011, and sofar no answer from Mississauga.
Contacted the Call Centre 4 x sofar and where told every time that a request was send to Mississauga (with all the needed information ,Canada Post receipt number, Tracking number and Payment Receipt number) the last time we contacted the Call Centre we were told that a answer was recieved after 4 weeks with the request for the Canada Post tracking number (that 4 weeks after the last request). It seems that not only Applications are getting lost but also Emails.

Call-Centre agents have limited access to the file, you should contact with your MP and they will check the status of application for you. This is the only solution I think, otherwise they will just waste your time.
