hello.. pls. help me.
sponsoring PR for my child filling 5481..
Section 5) A) current undertaking..
Number of persons included in box # 3 of the Generic Application form (IMM 0008) under section Application details - ?

Since the IMM 0008 is online now there is no box #3. Not sure what is the value we should fillin 5481 Section 5) A)..

my situation is... myself canadian citizen, spouse PR holder.. now sponsoring only for child born outside canada.

please guide me. Many thanks in advance

we are family of 4- we both got PR by express entry, Son Canadian citizen and daughter to whom we will be sponsoring born outside.

as per my understanding the sponsor need to put 4 in the box 7 of the sponsorship evaluation form.

4 . Yourself - 1
5 A) - No of person included on form IMM 008 - 1
5 B) All - 0
6 A) - 1 (Spouse got PR from express entry)
6 B) - 1 (Canadian born child)

Total - 4

I would also like to know if there anyone who sponsored their child while both spouses are permanent residents.

I would read the instructions again, CAREFULLY. As far as i'm aware that form only needs to be completed if you are sponsoring your son/daughter WHO HAS THEIR OWN CHILD. This is a fairly rare case for family sponsorships.

Thank you for your response but, as per the instruction: The IMM 5481 form should only be filled out when you are sponsoring dependent children who in turn have no dependent children of their own.

My apologies, you're correct, I confused this with another form. Yes, you're correct, you should get to four people.

I do not understand your question. Either parent, as long as they are PR or citizen in Canada, and no other prohibitions (such as there are), can sponsor the child.

If both of you got the PR through express entry while you were the principal applicant, your spouse was a dependent of your in that application.
He is part of the PR application and was NOT being sponsored.
As replied, he can sponsor a child as dependent as long as he's a PR living in Canada.
