Hi there! I hope you can help me with this.

My sister is a Canadian Citizen, she processed the application for sponsorship in 2010. My mother is the principal applicant and I am the dependent child. I was still 21 years old by that time and studying college, however by now when we received the letter requesting for additional information for cic to process our sponsorship I'm already 25 years old (single) and have graduated school and NOT currently studying.

1. Is it possible that my sister can still sponsor me as a dependent?

2. Also I need help filling up the form for Dependent type. Am I type 1,2, A,,B?
Thanks in advance!

If you were Type A at time of original application, then you are still Type A for the whole processing right up till you receive PR no matter how old you get.

Age gets locked at the time of application if you were below 22 then its all good.
Make sure with additional information, you do not show that you are making any income or are independent now. Being said, Age doesn't matter.

Income has nothing to do with Type A dependent.
Only criteria is to not get married, and not become common-law.

Hi Rob_TO,
Is there any documentation that says that income doesn't matter for type A dependents?
I don't find anything online.

Thanks.

The qualification to sponsor dependents makes no mention of having to meet minimum income requirement. If income is required, it would specifically spell it out.

CIC doesn't state things that are NOT required. The fact you can't find it, shows it does not need to be considered.

What I meant was "Is it OK when my brothers are working?"
Thanks.

I believe he can legally work despite the age lock in of under 21 before application submitted so long as he did not get married or gain common-law status. He has to be legally NOT living together under the same roof with his partner for 12 months if he is currently seeing anyone in a serious relationship. If he did, he is considered to be common law in the eyes of CIC even though that common law concept is unknown or unheard of where he is.

Thanks everyone for the help, how about the part in activities,

*proof of continuous full-time studies of all dependent children aged or over, incuding

-complete school records/transcripts since attaining age 22

-letters from school indicating the number of hours of classes attended per day, and the number of days attended per week

-proof of financial support by parent since reaching age 22

Should I still provide these even though i graduated in 2010? (i graduated at 21 years old, im 25 now)

Also, im already working, will this affect my application as a dependent even if we applied when i was still 21?

All that is for Type B dependents... not Type A.

Type C is for children with medical conditions or disabilities. I suggest you contact the visa office to update your forms to Type A.
