Depended child sponsorship

Hi everyone,
Back in 2020, my sister was selected to sponsor my parents for PR. While submitting the application, we discovered that I was eligible to be included as a dependent child, as I was under 21 years old at the time.
The application process took a long time, and in April 2024, we finally received the request letter. By June, we had submitted all the required documents, including the medical checks. Both my parents received their COPRs relatively quickly since their application was processed outside of Canada.
However, I haven’t received any updates on my application. I’ve raised multiple web forms, but there’s still no progress. In the meantime, I’ve extended my work permit since it was about to expire—thankfully, I was granted a six-month extension.
Has anyone here experienced a similar situation? Any advice or solutions to help me navigate this would be greatly appreciated!

If your parents received their COPR without yours, it doesn't look like you were included in the application.

When was the application submitted?
What does the request letter mean? " and in April 2024, we finally received the request letter"

Your sister as sponsor should have raise a webform asking why you were not part of the application. Did you fill in the IMM 5406? Did you go through medical? police check?
If not, you were not included.

I have no idea what happened here BUT: it sounds like parents were outside of Canada (got PPR) and the dependent child of parents (the poster) was inside Canada. (And the child might have been added later in process?)

All of which to say only: it's possible it fell between the cracks as somewhat unusual.

Personally I'd go to MP and call IRCC directly (ideally the sponsor or the parents) that we think it should've been straightened out after the parents landed.

If the parents (the Principal Applicant +) have not yet LANDED in Canada and the dependent child is still in Canada, it may be that IRCC expects the parents to land first. I don't know.

Hi, Apologies for the confusion regarding the request letter. To clarify, the request letter referred to the one in which they asked us to provide medical and police checks. This request was made for all three applicants (my parents and me) listed in the application.
Once we submitted the required documents, we received the RFV (Request for Visa) email from IRCC in June. This email instructed us to submit the following:
  • For applicants outside Canada: Passport, photo, and a specific form.(submit to Visa application Center in India)
  • For applicants inside Canada: Raise a web form.
I followed these instructions and submitted the web form, but I haven't received any response since then.

Thank you for your guidance. I will focus on bringing my parents here first, and then plan to reach out to the MP.

Do you know what the expiry date of the COPR documents they ahve received is?

I would try calling IRCC now, and MP too. Don't delay having parents come, but again, my guess is that IRCC is waiting for them to arrive before processing your PR status.

Then you are OK.

You cannot land until your parent (PA) land/complete their PR process first in Canada and become PR.
Then you will be "landing virtually". Will be getting emails to respond that you are inside Canada (portal 1 or P1 as ppl said in this forum) and then another one to submit photo..etc (P2) and finally to download your eCOPR.

Sometimes I see dependents getting their P1 emails at the same time as PPR as principle applicants BUT they also cannot complete the landing process until PA first landed.
