Depandent children study permit

Hello,
l am on 3 years open work permit in Canada. My kids studied in Canada for 1.5 years but they returned to Turkey last semester as they missed their dad.
They stil have valid study permit until the end of this year. However, one of my friend told me l have to apply a new study permit as they are outside the Canada. l couldnt find the right way on the Canada.ca’s online site when l login with my GCKEY, they dont differ their situation. How should l apply ? Thanks

Think your friend is confused. This is for postsecondary students. They get reported for not attending and their permits get cancelled. Are your children in elementary or high school? If so they should be fine. You may have to speak with the school about why they didn't attend and how they have been continuing their eduction so they are not behind their classmates.

They are still studying in Turkey and they will come to Canada by this summer. Can l apply a visitor visa for them now as they want to visit me during spring break and then change to study permit after. Thanks a lot

Their previous study permits are still valid, so you don't need to change anything. They just need new TRVs to come here.

So their study permits are expired?

No but they will expire at the end of december so l want to renew before they expire but my friend told me l can’t do extension outside Canada and l have to apply a new study permit but when l tried online questioneer didnt ask if they are accompanying parent on work permit or not. So l confused. How should l apply?

They need to be in Canada to apply for an extension. Apply for their TRVs now and then apply for new study permits after the current ones expire.
