Yes you can still apply, CIC require 1yr experience in last 10 years so your experience will be counted even if you are not working.

I have experience as lecturer in dental college. but my job duties also included clinical work as dentist. will there be any problem with canada immigration because the category i am applying in is dentist........

Lecturers in Dentistry will fall under Unit Group 4121 University Professors
Check the link by yourself to be sure

The webpage clearly shows that professor of medicine falls under this category so obviously Dental lecturer will fall under this category
As far as i know unit group 4121 is not eligible for processing, so i think you should consult your matter with someone who is experienced. I am recommending a senior member named "Ohcanadiana" to you for your guidance.
