I have been turned away from the border on several occasions and was allowed back in.... My now Husband and I have been together 13 years, I have lots of CBSA stories good and bad... i'll tell ya about the first time I was turned away... Little back story tho so you will understand. My Husband and I met in Sept 1998 online. Met in person first time Niagara Falls ON Valentines weekend 1999. I drove up every long weekend never had a problem crossing. In 2002 I was arrested. Went to court 2 months later explained to the judge what happened he laughed it off and gave me 1 day probation and $75 fee for court costs. April 2003 I gave birth to our first son. crossing the border very often now 4 to 6 times a month, March 2005 our second son arrives. again crossing border 4 to 6 times a month. The weekend of my babies 2nd birthday (March 2007, 5 years after my 1 and only arrest) I was bringing the kids up of course for birthday party etc... my husband would always meet me in Buffalo and we would cross together and alot of times I did get sent into immigration cus my boyfriend and both of my children are Canadian citizens and I'm American so it makes them question more... anyway this time we went in and the lady came out from behind the desk told my husband he could take the kids back to the car and she took me into this little room and grilled me for over a hr about my conviction I said what conviction? I was never convicted I was arrested and told her what had happened anyways long story short she denied me entry and in order to get back in I had to supply court records saying what I was arrested for and what happened at court. lemme tell ya it isn't easy getting copies of records that are 5 years old. took me about 3 months to get what she requested. So we are going to the border with the paperwork soon as the guard scanned my passport he handed me a yellow slip I went in showed my proof and was allowed back in but that red-flagged my passport I had to go in everytime since then even when I was crossing alone tried many times to have it removed but then the turn aways started happening more and more another time I was turned away cus I didn't have a return ticket LMAO my husband had drove down and picked us up and was taking me back but she turned me away even tho he said he was taking me home the following weekend. We spent the night in Buffalo and I crossed the next day we went into immigration told them exactly what we had the day before and the guy looked at me and said have a great visit! LOL everytime I been turned away it's been by a woman I musta got them at "their" time of the month hehe GL!

I have an older son from a pervious marriage he was 10 when we first started dating and 15 by the time my second son (our first) came along. He had a life wanted to finish high school with his friends, GF, his dad (would have never let me take him anyways). Now he is married with a baby and no longer a dependant child which makes the process alittle easier. so what has you so stressed out?

What were the reasons or why do you think you were denied though?

So you are married to a Canadian...? Are you going through any application for PR eg spousal sponsorship.

the immigration officer that dealt with me, i believe his position made his head huge...he insisted that the guy was my boyfriend and i wanted to come up and stay (as if that makes sense, since he was only a student and living with extended family members)...and i didnt print out my itinerary which shows that i had a return ticket, i asked him to look it up or go in my email, he said he doesnt have time for that...plus my bestfriend was in a relationship with a LUNATIC and she didnt like the fact that he and i friendship was soo close....and up to a day like today i still believe she probably call immigration and lied and placed a red flag on me. anyways they broken up and he found a better girl (thank God) lol...that was basically it...

Oh I see, the officer sounds a complete nightmare. Last time I was over I had forgotten to print my itinerary detailing return (tbh it was so many months in advance I wasn't bothered about printing it off at that point) but the officer checked on their computer with the airline and seen I wasn't lying. Glad I didn't encounter an idiot officer! Surely they should have to check on their computer anyway than go by something you have printed off? (as wouldn't be that hard to knock up a fake itinerary) I've also always been upfront that I'm visiting my girlfriend (tbh why else would I suddenly be making frequent trips there)

alot of them have the "GOD" complex.... and not just on the Canadian side American is just as bad, don't be fooled just cus your American you won't have any problems getting into your OWN country... I was sent into American immigration, reason being... my passport was flagged (in my own country WTF??) for get this... are you ready LOL crossing the border to often, are you kidding me?? I was held there in American immigration for 45 mins they took my passport, my cell phone, searched my purse, searched my car and questioned me and my children as to why I crossed so much.

As for the guards it is completely up to them as to what they want to do, you may get a nice one who is willing to check for you and then you get the ones that look at it like it's your responsibility to "prove" to them and if they are in a bad mood that day duck and run for cover LOL

Yes there are stories, but dont try to fool your self reading about others success because each case is very different, each officer is different and thus it really depends on your case.

I got denied 2 years ago a student visa, I immediately re-applied with supporting documentation covering all the reasons the VO marked and got my visa, in this case I had a legitimate reason and provided evidence of it. ;)
