All Seniors,

Please advise

As on date, DD pending for encashment and validity of the same is upto 05.09.2009. No response from CIO Sydney.

I gave e mail to scot.steven @ cic.gc.ca and also faxed my details on Fax no. 00 1 902 564 3207 on 24.07.2009 but no response. I checked it at my Bank from where I purchase my DD, today it is confirmed by the Bank that DD instrument is pending for encashment.

Please help me to find a solution. Your valuable advise will be a great help to me.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Don't rely too much on the bank information about you draft whether it is encashed or still outstanding, because i currently live in canada and i made my money order by (scotia bank) which is originally based on nova scotia, and i was trying at first to check with them whether it was cashed by the CIO or not.

They kept saying no at first for almost 5 weeks and at the end, they told me that they cannot check the status of my draft before 5 weeks because the system will not show any information about it before 5 weeks from the date of issue (doesn't make any sense!!!), after 6 weeks they told me it is encashed but we cannot define the exact date, they gave me a range of time between july 3 and 10.

After that, i asked them to give me a proof that the money order got cashed by CIO so they asked for a photocopy of that money order from another branch (i don't know whether it was the main branch or the branch in which CIO has cashed the draft).

The copy was for the front and back sides. the back side was stamped by Citizenship and immigration canada's official stamp, and the date of using the money which was july/2 not between 3 and 10. that is why am telling you not to rely on the bank information whether your draft has been cashed or still out standing.

They recieved your application on May,11 that is true, but you don't know in which date exactly they have started processing your application (it might be June,11), for example, they recieved mine on june,8 and started the processing on june,29, it depends on the immigration officer who is responsible on processing your application whether he can process it in reasonable time or not, or he is in vacation (so your application was put in hold for a while until he comes back......etc).

Therefore, don't be surprised when you see people who applied after you get their response before you (no queue, no order for applications, no first come first served, no priority is given to applications recieved first at sydney nova scotia)

Good luck and hope that you will be hearing soon form sydney nova scotia.
