hi,
Since your file has been transfered to local office, it means that they want to review it again and maybe with details. what is your local office? sometimes they reply rapidly and sometimes it takes time. Did you receive AIP?

Niceguy,

dont be confused and dont worry. you can can call them and ask about their timeline. We all should be patient. I have seen cases that have been transfered to local office and have been processed quickly. however I have received AIP but have been waiting after that almost 8 month now. So many factors are important that we are not aware of them. Just be patient an enjoy your life.

I received my AIP in June 2008 with no problems.
They asked for fingerprints which I sent in July and that was about it.
They said to us and to our MP that they are waiting for the background checks and we are still waiting.
Hopefully it doesn't take much longer cuz it's really frustrating.
Goood luck to all of us

Hi al4ya,

thanks for your reply. exactly the same for me. since for some people the back ground check is arified quickly and for some no, it means that it depends on many factors. however, yes it is hard just to wait and think about it.
good luck

Niceguy,

I wish you guys the best of luck. Hopefull you will hear from them soon. Can I ask when your status was updated, I am curious if it is at the same time they change the processing times or if this can be changed at any time.

Could you think of anything that might put your application in question??

Well hopefull it means that they will call you in for an interview and give you everything one time. Think positive and I wish you the best of luck. Wish I had a positive answer here but I really do not know.

perhaps they want to just confirm a few things regarding your relationship. As long as it is genuine you have nothing to worry about.

My day is coming up for a response and my nerves are getting to me. I am hoping for a positive response as we our expecting a baby and could use the extra $$ of both parties working.
