I send a Case specific enquiry yesterday, people say it is effective. You also try sending it. I don’t know beside it what we can do? Does Syedney Office have Email?

I did twice and got reply for both. But what they said is completely useless, telling me cannot find the info in the system along with some useless texts and links.

Have you called them or not? If they tell you that your application is returned, I suggest you reapply since you have got the justification for that.

No, I was told that there is no record of my application, it may be lost in Syedney or it may be returned.

Call them again and see what they say. I am not sure whether or not the call may be recorded or not. But what they say may help you justify your reapply, if you would like to.

@arash1718 when you get a chance, maybe call them again and see if another agent gives you the same information. It doesn't make sense that they opened your application and put it in a backlog. If that were true, they would do it once it begins processing ... Not in Sydney. A second call may be worth it to clear things up.

This thread is insane.
FWIW: I'm also an October applicant (post C6) waiting on AOR.

First up:
Calling, mailing, web-forming, whatever contact you choose with CIC is likely to yield nothing. Nada. Zip. What it is guaranteed to do is take resources away from CIC dealing with other issues - therefore increasing the work load and further delaying applications.

CIC Agents are call centre folks. They do not process applications - they will have access to certain information for sure but they are not immigration officers. The information they give can be trusted to a certain extent but in terms of processing etc, I wouldn't take their word as gospel.

What happens to applications that arrive on say October 18? And then October 19? I don't know - they may be stamped with date received but are they separated in to piles and everything divided up equally so that people opening the envelopes only do so in order of receipt? Are people prevented from opening envelopes from say October 21 when others are still opening October 18 because they got more October 18 envelopes than the others? I don't know.

The bottom line is that CIC processing time is officially 12 months for standard cases. There is no AOR commitment timeline. There is also THOUSANDS more applicants since the rules changed. You can see on the spreadsheet - 650+ recorded on this forum alone vs under 100 for previous months. Not every application will be on this forum. Has CIC brought on extra resources to deal with it? Who knows but I doubt it - there is no benefit for them to spend extra $$$ on more resources.

So yeah - it makes sense that AORs are going to be delayed. AVERAGE is there for a reason - people get below average and people get above average. It's maths.

So for the love of everything Canadian, please, please stop creating hysteria, stop hounding CIC and just let things run its course.

this forum is ripe with speculations, half-hearted information, creating meanings out of thin air from IRCC rep's words where none exists,...

what is your problem people? if you find an advice idiotic, then do what you want. But it is none of your business to keep saying what others say is wrong or insane.

I called CIC yesterday and the agent found my application. It was received on October 13th as expected. But he did not give me a good news after that. Due to the load of applications they put some of the applications, including mine, in back log and we might not receive AOR for a while (till January or February as he said).

This does not seems fair since we were first in line. Why someone who applies on November should cut the line?

Do you think if we should keep calling and ask them to process our applications?
Have you tried to enter in ecas with your UCI?

Of course it is our business because their idiotic actions will have a negative impact on all our applications including theirs!
Let's say these impatient people band together and decide to march on CIC Sydney office to find their application and process it themselves and then burn down the place because they didn't receive their AOR on time according to an unofficial speadsheet! Based on your logic we should let them do what they want and say nothing :|

Because you're causing hysteria. People are going to come here, read this guff and submit new applications which could actually cause a huge influx of needless applications which will cause huge delays. It's crazy. Actually - totally crazy bonkers mad coocoo crazy.
