Dear Altruist,

I am posting it on behalf of a friend who got PR and landed in Canada on April 16, 2016. Usual time for receiving a PR card is 65 days. However, on July 12, he made a query through IRCC web form and call centre agent told him it is still under process. It would be big help if you can answer the following query:

1. Is it usual to make this delay in getting PR card? Does anyone face the same problem?

2. If he wants to move to another province then would it take more time to get the PR card?

Thank you.

Hi

I too landed on April 27 and still waiting for my PR card to arrive. I called up CIC last week and the answer is same as your friends...it is still under process. Hoping for the best

Ravi

In my case, took almost 4 months to get PR Card.

Is it possible to go and work in Canada when one have been approved but still haven't got the card?

I didn't know this was a possible issue.

Cheers!

Once you completed landing as a permanent resident, just simply go to service Canada and bring COPR to activate Social insurance number(SIN) then you'll be able to find job and work anywhere in Canada without PR card.

Landed 28th april, same still in process story.
We have no choice but to wait....
