The applications were filed in October 2023 for my sister and niece to attend mother's memorial ceremony following an immediate loss. Both applicants have previously been issued visas twice since 2014 and have traveled multiple times without issue and approved extensions. Despite this, the applications remain pending, with one applicant still awaiting initiation and clearance of eligibility over 13 months later.
What remedies are available at this point? Would a priority request by webform, status check in or other ways exist to expedite the process? is filing a Writ of Mandamus the only remedy at this point?
