Delay in visit visa application

I have applied for Canadian visit visa from Pakistan to attend a conference in Toronto. The processing time, they say for Pakistanis, is 8 weeks and this has now been around 11 weeks and I am still waiting for the visa.

I have emailed Canadian high commission Pakistan to ask the status and got email acknowledgment but have not yet received any response regarding the status of my application. To attend the conference, I should be there by 20th July. Is there any other way to inquire the status of my application?

No. There isn't much you can do. The visa office will contact you when they complete the process.

Ya I think there nothing you can do but to wait. I have also applied for TRV from NY consulate and waiting for the last 2 weeks.
