Delay in responding to an online-study-permit application

Hello,

I applied for a study permit on April 14th, provided my medicals two days later and it showed they're submitted on my account. Ever since, my GIC account has not shown any updates. After five weeks, I submitted an inquiry and the response was that I am from a country that requires special clearance procedures so Final Decision on my application is held until they receive confirmation from other agencies.

P.S. I was in the US when I submitted my application and now I am back in Palestine.

Does anybody here have a similar experience or knows anything that could help?

You applied as a resident of palestine? If u did then you follow jordan embassy processing time which is 8-9 weeks

I believe my application was processed in the US since the consulate in LA is the one that responded to my inquiry. Either way it's already passed the average time and my program starts in August.
