No it does not mean so. The chances of getting visa are especially high after you're done with your medicals

If there is delay in processing student visa, does that mean that it will be rejected?

What's the general processing duration?
(See here) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/students.asp
Well I'll tell you about my case if it makes you feel any better. In Pakistan, it takes about three months for one to get their visas and it could be less as well. I got my medical call within 15 days and after that they took about 5 months to issue me my visa. So yeah don't be hopeless about it, keep praying and be patient :D

did you apply under general or SPP?

most likely general as SPP takes not more than 4 to 5 working days time. in case, general, then usually they take 15 to 20 working days time.

I applied end Jan and sent them enquiry after 5 weeks. They replied that my application has been processed and the file has been approved. But its too soon to stamp the visa for Sept intake. So they will request for the passport in early may and stamp it.

So, if you are applying for Sept intake, relax! They will revert to you by May.

How's it going with your visa? just pray and be patient. I received my visa last January 18 but I was supposed to be in class January 7 so i have to refile for the September intake in my school this 2013. However, even if I have to refile for September at least my visa is already here, so just keep on waiting. I have waited like almost 4 months anyway you can try following it up if you can drop by the office where you applied or call them and ask them that's what I did, ask them how too because on the website they will tell you that there's like no chance of following it up because it "should" be process quickly as they have said. Nevertheless, you can still check with the visa office where you applied. Hope for the best! ;D
