Are you in a program where attendance is mandatory if you miss the first two weeks of class? Will you fail by missing the first two weeks? After the 15th, you don’t don’t get money back.

What can actually caused the delay? I applied for study permit in September 2023 and I did my biometrics in October 2023.
The current status are:
Eligibility: Completed
Biometrics: Completed
Medical: not started
Background check: in progress.
I applied for Jan 2024 intake and now my LOA has been expired ( FROM NIGERIA)

Well your background check is still in progress. This involves immigration checks and verifying that your documents are authentic. This can take a long time if they need to get response from Nigerian government officials and banks too. You are also from a country with the highest number of asylum seekers so your processing will take longer.

Also keep in mind, delays can happen for various reasons (not always on purpose). Many people are worried about how long their application (whether it’s a study permit or PR) can take. UPDATE ON MY TIMELINE
Upfront medicals...........: June 9, 2023
Application submission: July 21, 2023
Biometric Capture.........: July 23, 2023
Medical Request...........: November 06, 2023
Medicals completed..... : November 10, 2023
BVL................................: December 13, 2023
Passport Request (PPR) December 15, 2023

It's been 21 weeks (approximately 5 months) since I submitted my application and did my biometrics.

Anyway, my school starts in January 2024.

Student visa received today.

Grace is the same with me, it's now 4 months and 3 weeks I did my biometrics and up till now have not heard from IRCC about my visa
