I applied for study visa on 9th November and gave my biometric on 17th November. My medical and biometric was updated on 25th of November, but since then there is no update. I even raised a web form on 2nd January but the respond was an automated generated mail. My intake is May and I am very much worried. What should I do?

What program did you apply to come to Canada?

That sounds a bit stressful, sorry to hear that! You can check other’s study permit timelines here and ask if what you’re experiencing in terms of processing time is normal: https://myimmitracker.com/en/ca/trackers/study-permit-tracker

Another option is that you can try contacting the IRCC if your application processing time passed their standard and asking for an update. There have been a lot of study permit changes recently so I’m wondering if that could be affecting it…

I raised a web form once, but the reply to that was an automatic generated mail. Their is no other way to contact IRCC.

It is fairly normal for it to take many months to receive a response about a study permit. Would suggest looking to see how long others have waited for processing from your home country. You may get faster processing now that most applying have to wait for provincial attestation while you are applying for a masters program as long as you are attending a large public university.

People who have applied in December are getting Their visa’s in 20 to 30 days. I don’t know why is it taking so long in my case.

That is why extremely unusual. Are you sure applicants from Pakistan are getting study permits in 20-30 days or TRVs? Some get TRVs in short amounts of time if being assessed by AI. Large percentage from Pakistan still have to wait 3+ months for the results of their TRV application. Given new announcements most of the study permit processing is on hold

I dont think 20days timeline is possible for Pakistan. To add to medical, biometric and backlog

Sorry to hear about that. Since you don’t know when you’re going to hear a response from them regarding your study permit , I think you should send an email to your school stating your issue and requesting for them to allow you enter in September. I don’t think there’ll be any issue with that

My college falls under private public partnership. If I deferred my course to September I will not get the post graduation work permit.

I am from India and my application was submitted in November. People who have submitted their files before 22 January are getting visa. I don’t think cap is for the ones who have already submitted their files. A friend of mine filed their application in December last week and he got his visa few days back.
