Hi All,

Greetings!!
I have a question which is puzzling me to take a decision in initiating my PR application under Federal Skilled Workers(FSW) which opened 1st May '14?

I did my 4 years(2002-2006) bachelors degree in civil Engineering and graduated in 2006.Right after college, I have started working in IT field and have a total experience of 7.5 years in IT field as Software Engineer/Senior software engineer and currently working as Senior applications Engineer with an US based IT firm.I don't have any experience in my relevant education job category(Civil Engineering).

Am I eligible to apply for the FSW for the NOC- Software engineers and designers (2173), in spite that I do not have any relevant education related to IT field?

Please advise.

Regards,
Yaniv

Hi Yaniv

You are eligible to apply for FSW.

There is however that question of penetrating the Job market assuming you do make it to Canada. So I would suggest you apply for FSW and keep researching the requirements that are generally required to be met by a person looking to fill a job in Canada that you aspire.

This may also prepare you with the knowledge regarding the right skills and qualifications that may be required in the future (if needed).

Good luck!

Thank you Nishesh for clarifying my doubts!!.

I planning to submit by application in the first week of September for NOC:2173-Software engineers and designers. I have sent my document for evaluation to WES and expected date in 15 Aug '14.
Is it too late to apply for this NOC under FSW category visa? Current applications for NOC: 2173 is seen as 57/1000.

Please advise.

You are eligible to apply. Just ensure that you have done most of the duties of NOC for software engineer.
