Degree from BC / no work experience / Ontario PR

Hi everyone,

So I will finish my Masters in a university in BC & I'm planning to go to UofT toward a PhD degree. I don't have any previous work experience (does 2 years being research and teaching assistant count?). The only thing I will have is a degree from a BC-based university. Can I start my PhD in UofT, right after finishing my MASc, and apply for PR simultaneously?

I have been told that teaching assistanships count (but not full time). So you might have to try your luck. Their definition of 1 year continuous experience is 30 hours per week (1560 hours) so if you work 10 hours per week, you need to work for 3 years to get the same experience to be eligible for CEC.
