Definition of 'proof of financial support'

Hello, I am an international student currently trying to extend my study permit. For the column "Proof of Means of Financial Support", it stated "your bank statement for the past 4 months. and you have less than 10,000CAD in your bank account, you can submit parent's bank statement"

I am confused if I have to submit my parent's bank statement for the past 4 months, or my parent's balance certificate which has more than 10,000CAD, or both.
I am extending just for a semester, and I have already paid for the tuition. Also, I already have my parent's balance statement (about 20,000CAD) so far, but would I still need to submit my parent's bank statement for the last four month? If I could not get the English ver. from my own country's bank, do I have to translate by myself?

Please, please, please help me.

You have to either show YOUR OWN bank statement of 4 months. If you have more than 10,000 CAD in YOUR OWN account then you don't have to do anything else. If you don't have 10,000 CAD in your own account then and only then must you show your parents bank statement. If you have your statement in a foreign language other than English or french then you must get it translated and notarized by a certified translator.

I don't know what a balance certificate is but it would be better to show either your account which had less that 10000 CAD AND your parents current bank statement.

If your parents are sponsoring you then you can show their last 4 months bank statement along with the sponsorship proof you used while applying for visa.
