Help me please! I am about to open an Express Entry Profile, and I am working as an accountant with experience of 9 years in the field. I made my educational credential assessment by WES and the Canadian Equivalency is Bachelor's Degree. The problem is that the immigration consultant that I am working with told me that I am not able to choose NOC 1111 (Financial accountants and auditors) to indicate in my EE profile as I do not have any professional certificate (like CPA or CMA) and that will make my profile rejected and I am supposed to choose NOC 1311 (Accounting technicians and bookkeepers), on the other hand, another immigration consultant told me that it is OK to apply with NOC 1111 (Financial accountants and auditors) as I do the same job duties stated in the IRCC website under that NOC. Which is the right NOC to choose without being rejected? And what is the most desired NOC in Canada from the two mentioned NOCs?

What is your CRS score for express entry? As long as it is a NOC A,B or 0, the NOC number doesn’t matter. Of the two there is no most desired NOC.

That is fine for express entry. If applying to PNP programs, the designation may be required.
Yeah I actually got conflicting advices about this actually. Since the NOC 1111 does mention the need for professional designation. Most of the consultants are mentioning to use 1311 since I only have a 3 year diploma. But honestly it made no sense since this is the only code that lays out job duties of an auditor.

But you aren’t an “auditor” if you dont have the designation. You may have the roles and responsibilities of an auditor but your title shouldn’t be auditor. You can use the code with title as a controller, specialist, supervisor etc.

Sorry I should have phrased it better. Yeah my official title is "Audit Associate" and my roles are same as my peers working towards the designation since it takes 30 months to actually achieve the designation. From my understanding the title wasnt that important and it was more about the Job duties mentioned on the NOC website

I currently have a low score of 385, but I am taking IELTS again to increase that, but knowing the right NOC is like a pain in the neck as there is nothing clear about it.

So you do not have a Bachelor degree?

My Case is different because I am under CEC category and the 3 year diploma counts same as Bachelors in the application anyway.
Why is your case different? The NOC says you must have university degree CA, CMA etc. For auditors,
  • Auditors require education, training and recognition as indicated for chartered accountants, certified general accountants or certified management accountants and Some experience as an accountant.
Do you have a university degree? If you have a diploma from a college that is not a university degree.

Okay so I have a 3 year diploma and yes that's not a Degree and I am employed by a big four auditing company with the exact same job descriptions as my peers in Canada with a degree. So what exactly am I supposed to choose? When I say my case is different I only mean that I know of people from my company who have previously applied with the same NOC code but I am unsure if they consider the same from outland applicants.
EDIT 2: and I'd love to apply with 1311 since that does not need a degree but it literally has 0 auditing work description
