Deferring study after ARRIVING in Canada

As long as your visa is valid, you can use it to enter Canada. But in one condition, you have to show your new admission letter at the port of entry and should satisfy officer that you meet other conditionas like financial, validity of the new institution, etc. So they issue you a study pemit for your new program.
By the way, I think it is better to ask CIC and international section of your university.

My visa came today and my program already started so my University said reapply as extension or deferral is not their policy for this program (A). On basis of this program I had applied my visa that came late...
I had already secured admission in the same Uni but a different program (Program B). I had asked this program a deferral coz I had the other program in hand.
I am in tricky situation, I got my visa today but now neither I have Program A in hand nor B coz B starts in Jan 2019. I have already booked tickets and program B is not ready to revert the deferral as the seat for fall is given to someone else...I can only join from Winter 2019 ...
What should I do...I cant stay where I currently am....Pls experts save me...I am with family...my spouse got OWP and Son got student visa too

If you come to Canada now when your studies don't begin until January, you could be refused entry, especially if you can't show significant proof of funds to support yourselves for 4 months without working.
You can try to gain admission to another course for this fall semester and then transfer to Program B in January.
You are in a difficult situation. Considering the fact that you will be traveling with family, it will be good amount of expenditure for 4 months until you start attending your program in Jan 2019. You need to do the Math on the expenditures that will be incurred in these 4 months. Depending upon your financial health you may make a call to travel now.
Traveling in Dec' makes more sense. The tickets can be rescheduled by paying some penalty. Also, make sure that your admission is still confirmed for Jan' session or not.

Thank u for the valid insightful points that u highlighted. As I have an infant and a 15yr old kids with me, I feel Sep to Dec time will be crucial to settle their routines, prepare for winters, get them necessary admissions etc in my close supervison and total presence. If I directly land in harsh winters and we all directly get to routines, it may hit us harder especially kids (my assumptions may be).

At POE it is face-to-face interview with the border officer and there is no letter to be given. Only required documents (as directed by CIC/IRCC) needs to be shown to the officer. This is different than the visa application process where visa officer will take his leisure to scrutinize the application. There you can write whichever letter you wish to write and convey your viewpoint. At POE it's just Q&A and allowing entry is at the discretion of border officer.
I meant which letter of acceptance should I present Jan 2019 or Sep 2018 as I have already got deferral?
You should show the LOA for the term that you will start studying. I believe, it's Jan 2019.

Hello guys...i applied health care administration for sept 2019.unfortunately my visa visa rejectd..can i go for deferal..or else money withdraw...is there any chances to me to get deferal for jan 2020..as i already paid 1year tution fees for sept2019...what can i do..plz reply
