Can I defer my study to the next semester or year, while staying in Canada?

Are you changing schools? Do you have approval from school to defer? Do you have enough funds to live in Canada until the next semester since you cannot work?

So update your IRCC account with new LOA, make sure that school doesn’t notify IRCC to cancel your permit. You can defer but will not be able to work until next semester.
