I wanted input from all of you.

I have CRS 503 and eligible for both FSW and CEC. I received an invitation under FSW. After looking at the document list I realized they need 10 years for experience letter which would be impossible.

I am looking to apply under CEC due to less documentation requirement.

Is it wise to decline the FSW invitation and change profile to remove low available funds and removing foreign work experience?
This profile change may result in loosing approximately 50 points.

What do you guys think?

Dear Nadeem,

I think you have misread or mis-interpreted the CIC requirement. No where in the website have they mentioned 10 years of experience is required to apply under FSW.

To be eligible for FSW one has to have one year of continuous work experience under Type 0, A or B job (Check NOC for job type) in the last 10 years

Incase you are referring to obtaining documents for the last 10 years from your previous employers, then YES. One would need to show the employer / job history for the last 10 years

Yeah the confusion is because whether you need foreign experience or not, if you put anything down on your EE profile, you will get points for it (if applicable) then when it comes to your PR submission you need to prove the things you got points for.

its a system which should be a lot clearer as to the implications of submitting and omitting data.

So I did put all of my 5 experiences within 10 years in the CRS profile. Now in the document list they want experience letter from all the 5 work places. 2 of my work experiences are not in Canada and I left those places without notice. So it will be hard to get them do give me an experience letter although I still do have offer letter from them. Due to this I will not be able to completely provide experience letters.

So as I wont be able to fulfill all documentation requirement, I am thinking to decline FSW invitation and hope top receive a CEC invitation as I have 2 years of Canadian Experience.

I am on the similar boat and I think I am going to decline as well. But this time make sure I am not eligible for that damn FSW...

You need one year of work in your NOC classification to qualify for FSW under EE. You also need 67 points in the FSW class to qualify for that particular invitation. On the CIC website, it tells you what you can get points for, to get those 67 qualifying points. Some of the things are your English score, close relatives in Canada, an LMIA-supported job offer, etc.

One of those things for which you get points is years of work in an NOC O, A, or B occupation. It does not all have to be in the same one you are applying under, beyond the one necessary year. You can get 15 points, I believe it is, for more than 6 years of work in those categories. Can you prove 6 years of employment? Or with fewer years, can you still get a minimum of 67 points?

I think people here are panicking over FSW requirements, misunderstanding them, and in general running like a flock of geese to CEC. There is no guarantee of being invited under CEC, so I would think it over very very carefully, and look very carefully at the actual requirements of FSW before turning down an invitation.

I understand the FSW requirements. The issue here is providing experience letter based on CIC requirements from employers. Not everyone leave the jobs on a happy note with employers. CIC is asking to have detailed job description on the experience letter from an employer who I worked for 5 years ago and I left that job without notice. I worked for them for 2 years and left without notice, so there is no way they will give me an experience letter. Hence I will not be able to prove my experience.

Reduce fund to less that 12,000$. Change to NO where you are asked if you have a job offer, even if you have a job that you are currently working on. If you have LMIA then you cant change.

For anyone that is wondering if this works, it does! I declined ITA and only qualify for CEC now. Good luck to everyone.

It does not matter you get points or not for your previous employmemt, you need to declare all your work experience under CEC or FSW and you will be required to provide letters of employment from previous jobs

The way I understand it you claim in your EE profile information that you want to get points for and hence you have to prove it. Later when you get ITA you still have to list everything you did (vacations, employment etc.) but dont have to prove it. I think you dont need to put everything in your EE profile. I will call CIC tmrw and confirm with them whether thats true.

CIC comment on FSW employment records:
=================================================================================
The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:

- a reference or experience letter from the employer
- should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and e-mail address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company);

- should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits.
=================================================================================

If you are unable to produce documentation from your previous employers, then I suggest not mentioning it in your profile.

Considering this if any of experience cannot be proved through a letter from employer, its better not to put it and if the ITA is already received, its better to decline it and redo the profile
